Typography is a central component of design. The Typography Manual is arguably the most comprehensive typography application available today. I recently collaborated with three other designers, Molly Hein, Catherine Grothe and Christina Rimstad, to create a conceptual response to Emil Ruder's text Typographie: A Manual of Design. The rebranding program included a complete redesign of Citroën's showrooms and all visual communications. It's one of the primary ways we, as a society, pass on information to others. In this tutorial, we'll look at how to take basic markup and transform it into an attractive and beautiful typographical design through pure CSS3. There are no images or other external resources, just pure CSS magic. We'll also touch on It will in almost all cases (with some exceptions still requiring manual rewriting to force usable word lengths) produce really yucky and unreadable text. Designed primarily for learning, The Typography Manual is perfect for graphic designers. It gives us an understanding of the heritage behind our craft. Recently car manufacturer Citroën introduced a major rebrand, designed by Landor.
